For Jasmine, a mother of three in St. Louis City, financial stability has always been about more than balancing a budget — it’s been about building generational wealth and securing her family’s future.
When she first connected with LifeWise StL, Jasmine wanted to strengthen her financial footing and surround herself with a community that would encourage and support her.
Jasmine enrolled in and successfully completed LifeWise STL’s Emergency Matched Savings program in 2024. Then in August 2025, Jasmine enrolled in the Individual Development Account (IDA) Program, attended eight Financial Education classes, and participated in seven one-on-one coaching sessions with financial wellness coach Lauren Hirschmann.
“I’ve really appreciated the coaching relationship Jasmine and I have built over this past year,” Lauren said. “From day one, her vulnerability to share where she was at in her debt payoff and savings journey let us approach her finances honestly and holistically. Through financial advising and personalized coaching, Jasmine gained the tools, knowledge, and accountability needed to make steady progress.
One of Jasmine’s biggest milestones came when she paid off a $2,400 debt with the St. Louis Community Credit Union—a full month earlier than she had expected.
Eliminating that debt allowed her to enroll in the IDA homebuying program and begin the required six-month savings journey.
Jasmine credits much of her success to her own commitment and the consistent support she received from her LifeWise StL coach Lauren.
“The coaches at LifeWise StL are your accountability partners who don’t judge you when you make a mistake,” Jasmine said.
Today, Jasmine is now closer than ever to her ultimate dream: homeownership for herself and her children. Through the IDA program, she continues to save toward her future home with excitement and determination, and has diligently saved $2,000 towards her IDA savings account over the past several months.
She hopes to purchase a home in the next year. At the time of closing, LifeWise StL will match what Jasmine has saved with $6,000 in matched funds, which will total $8,000 towards her home purchase. Her story is a testament to what can happen when hard work is paired with the right support system.
